Domino’s Hotspots solve a problem that you may have never known you had

If you’re anything like me you can’t get enough pizza. There are times when I’ll have pizza multiple days in a row, or sometimes even multiple times in one day. More often than not whenever I want pizza, I’m able to go pick it up, or am in an easy to deliver to location. You know, someplace with an address that can be found on a map. Domino’s Pizza is solving an issue for people who want pizza, but aren’t necessarily someplace with a set address. Domino’s Hotspots are pre-determined available areas for Domino’s Pizza delivery where there isn’t an address present.

If you’re old enough to remember this, think about the original Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles movie. Michelangelo really wanted pizza, but the sewer doesn’t exactly have an address so they just had to wing it. With Domino’s Hotspots, he could have ordered his pizza via dominos.com or the mobile app (which wouldn’t have been available when the movie was released in 1990, but I digress) and then met the delivery driver at a predetermined location wearing the turtles’ expert disguises comprised of a hat and overcoat. I joke, but the idea really is pretty great and I’m kind of surprised that nobody has done anything like this before now.

Domino’s Hotspots will only be available to pre-paid orders on dominos.com or via the Domino’s Pizza app. Once the order is successfully placed, the hungry pizza fan will receive text message updates about the status of their pizza, including notifications when the delivery driver is close by and when they should meet at the Hotspot for pizza pickup. Hotspots will use the GPS on your phone or other applicable location data as necessary to make sure you aren’t calling in rogue pizza deliveries. So next time you’re out and about and really want some pizza, or any of the other items available at Domino’s, just check to see whether or not you’re in the vicinity of an available Hotspot, and order away. Also, for the record, pineapple on pizza is freaking delicious.

What do you think? Have you ever been in a situation where you weren’t at a traditionally available area for pizza delivery? Would this service have helped out? Tell us what you think in the comment section below, or on Google+, Twitter, or Facebook.
